A normal person possessed different types of reactions. They smile or laugh when they are happy, frown when they are angry and cry or grieve when they are sad or something important for them was gone. Speaking of grief, it is a normal reaction or emotion person encounters due to major loss. It is often accompanied by a painful emotion and unhappy events.
What are the causes of grief?
It could be triggered when someone in the family, closest friend or someone especially died. Alternatively, it could be because of a certain incurable disease that can affect a person’s life forever. Separation from your love one is also considered as one of the major causes of grief.
Symptoms of Grief
Symptoms may include the feeling of denial. Then it is followed by anger as they blame other people for it. After that is the bargaining stage (i.e., If she/he comes back to me, I will never do it again). Grief symptoms also consist of having a super depressed mood and long term of sadness and crying. Acceptance might be hard since it could last for a lifetime, especially if it is not treated immediately.
No medicines can cure this type of condition. But there are people whom you can rely for a help. These people are known as the counsellors, who do and conduct the grief counselling.
Grief isn’t something you can cure by drinking medications and eliminate it in a matter of seconds, days or weeks. Sometimes mending a person’s broken soul may last longer than expected.
Intricate grieves may be very hard to mend, and grief counselling is an important part that possessed a big role in doing it. Losing someone you love is really painful since it may cause emotional and psychological distress. Because of these, a person may feel weak and vulnerable inside and out.

With the help of the counsellors through grief counselling it might be easy for them cope up. Counsellors have their own way and techniques to ease the depression of their clients.
As for the counsellors and the patient, a face-to-face therapy is a nice step to begin with. They could apply their ideas and methods to their clients. A group therapy is also recommended. This will allow that person to know that she, or he is not the only person who experiences that tragic event of their lives. It allows them to communicate with other people and gain more experience and insight through others. They can also acquire and even offer comfort from and towards others. Making new friends isn’t half bad.
Aside from a grief counsellor’s help, the involvement of the family members in coping up is also a vital part of the counselling. It is important for them to know that no one is blaming them and pressuring them because of someone’s loss. Family and friends love will help them to realize that they are not alone. And there are a lot of people who are waiting for their recovery.
